I had the opportunity to host one of Lolly Wovens’ American testers, and I was excited to give it a try. I had only come across the company on Facebook, where they often have giveaways, so I was curious to see their products up close. Lolly Wovens is based in Europe and offers wraps at a more affordable price point, which I really appreciate—you can even get a size 7 for under $100!
The Heron Anturium wrap falls in the medium thickness range. It’s neither too thin nor too thick, and my shoulders felt comfortable while using it. There was no digging at all, and I could ruck Tot up without feeling any weight.
The wrap has limited give—it’s not bouncy but has a slight diagonal stretch that allows for nicely molded passes. It’s mostly solid and might soften up with more use. I noticed a bit of relaxation after having Dumpling wrapped for over an hour during nap time, but not enough to require readjusting or reworking the passes.
Heron is close to achieving that Ace bandage quality that I love in my wraps. It creates a smooth chest pass and hugs snugly on horizontal passes. This wrap leans more toward being a workhorse than a delicate piece. The weave isn’t too open, so pulls and snags are less likely. With its blend of cotton and Tencel, it should be easy to care for, though I always recommend following the brand’s care instructions.
The wrap isn’t overly warm, but it’s not thin enough to be considered airy. It felt comfortable in the slightly chilly, rainy weather we’ve been having. Multiple passes can make it feel warmer. The passes glide smoothly into place and lock down well thanks to the texture, which doesn’t interfere with the gliding. It has a soft feel with just a hint of texture from the pattern, which you can slightly feel when you run your hand over it. Heron is breaking in quickly, becoming floppier and blanket-like.
Heron was a delightful visitor! The colors are bright and playful, which isn’t something I see often. The kids loved the green and the heron design throughout the pattern. Lolly Wovens seems like a fun and promising new company, and I’m excited to see what they come out with next.
