I had the chance to try out Emmeline Textiles’ Juno Squares Version 2 through their traveler program, and I was excited to give it a go. Their program offers a great variety of wraps for caregivers to explore, and since I hadn’t tried Juno Squares before, I was eager to see how it handled.
Juno Squares V2 is a very thin wrap—not in a bad way, though. While it doesn’t offer much cushion on the shoulders, it also doesn’t cause any discomfort. In all the carries I tried (ruck, double hammock, front wrap cross carry), the shoulders didn’t dig at all.
The wrap has limited give, which made for a solid chest pass with just a bit of molding across the chest. Though my wrap job was a bit sloppy due to using an unfamiliar size, the wrap held firm without needing frequent adjustments or tightening.
I wouldn’t describe Juno Squares V2 as cumbersome. It’s close to being like an Ace bandage wrap, with just enough moldability but not much stretch. While not a delicate wrap, it’s a natural (natty) one, so it might not be the best choice if you’re prone to spills or stains. Fortunately, stains don’t tend to linger on Emmeline Textiles’ 100% cotton wraps, but as always, it’s best to follow the company’s care instructions.
Juno Squares is quite airy due to its thinness, which helps it stay cool. The passes glide easily, with a slight texture from the weave that reminds me of a basket weave pattern. Tying a double knot or slip knot is a breeze—no extra wiggling or shimmying needed to get the wrap in place.
The texture gives the wrap a slightly bumpy feel, which you can see in the photo above—along with those adorable baby feet! The wrap is already pretty floppy and will likely become even more so as it continues its journey to other hosts.
Overall, it’s a great wrap. I’d recommend single passes for smaller babies and multiple passes for bigger kids. It’s thin without being diggy, and textured without being too grippy—another win from EmTex!
